Watch design for brands

HTIMES designs watch collections for established brands in fashion, jewellery, lifestyle, sport and licensed IP. We start from your colours, logo, materials and the way your products already look, turn them into renderings you can review, and revise until you — and any licensor — approve the final design. Design and approval usually take a month or more, and nothing goes to sampling until the design is signed off.

Why Brands Design a Watch With Us, Not From a Catalogue

It Looks Like Your Brand

Every choice traces back to something your brand already does: a colour, a material, a proportion, a detail from your own products.

You See It Before It Exists

Renderings show the watch from every angle, so decisions are made on screen, not after a sample.

Built to Be Made

We design with the case, dial and movement in mind from the start, so the approved design is the one that gets produced.

What Usually Holds Brands Back

What brands worry aboutHow we handle it
“We don’t have a watch designer.”You don’t need one. You bring brand references; we turn them into watch designs and explain each choice in plain terms.
“It will end up looking generic.”We start from your brand, not a stock watch. The first renderings already use your colours, logo and product language.
“Our design could leak.”An NDA is signed before any artwork is shared and renewed annually, and drawings are split by component, so no supplier sees the full watch.

How the Design Stage Works

1. Brand Brief

You share your brand guidelines, product photos, target retail price and launch date. If there is a licence, we ask for the usage terms and style guide.

2. Design Direction

We propose a direction for the case shape, dial, hands, strap and caseback, and show how each one connects to your brand.

3. Renderings and Revisions

Detailed renderings with colour references. Most brands go through a few rounds of comments: drawing takes days, the time goes into review.

4. Approval and Handover to Sampling

Once you, and any licensor, sign off, the approved design becomes the reference for the sample and for every production piece.

Design and approval usually take a month or more. Licensed projects can take longer, because the licensor reviews each version. How licensor approval works

What We Design Around Your Brand

Case Study: A Jewellery Brand’s Own Materials, Worn on the Wrist

Watch with a mother-of-pearl dial designed for a pearl jewellery brand

The brand. A jewellery brand known for its pearl pieces.

The challenge. A watch had to look like it came from the same collection as the jewellery, not like a watch with the brand’s name added.

What we designed. The dial uses mother-of-pearl, the material customers already associate with the brand. Where the jewellery uses gemstones, matching stones are set on the strap, so the watch and the jewellery can be worn together.

The result. Watches are now part of the brand’s seasonal launches, and each one reads as a piece from its jewellery collection.

Case Study: Making a Logo Feel Like the Brand

Pair of menswear brand watches on leather straps

The brand. A menswear brand selling through several hundred stores.

The challenge. On the first sample, the dial logo looked ordinary next to the brand’s leather goods.

What we changed. How the logo was applied on the dial and the caseback. The overall design stayed the same.

The result. The second sample was approved, and the watches went into the brand’s stores.

Questions About Watch Design

Do we need our own watch designer?

No. Most brands we work with don’t have one. You bring brand references and make the decisions; we do the watch design and explain the options in plain terms.

What should we send to start?

Your brand guidelines or logo files, a few product photos that feel most like your brand, a target retail price and a launch date. Reference watches you like are useful but not required.

How many design revisions are included?

Revisions continue until the design is approved. Most brands settle the design in a few rounds; what helps most is one person on your side who can approve each stage.

Who owns the design?

The design developed for your brand is for your brand only. An NDA covers all artwork from the first exchange, and your design is never offered to anyone else.

Can you design within a licensor’s style guide?

Yes. We design inside the usage terms and style guide, prepare each submission in the format the licensor reviews, and keep a written record of every sign-off.

How long does the design stage take?

Usually a month or more, then around 30–45 days for the sample and around 45–60 days for production.
